Grate Bale Box Feeders were originally designed by Dane Melvin in the early 1990s when he declared war on the way traditional hay feeders and his sheep wasted prime hay and alfalfa.
Because the GBBF promotes complete hay consumption, an added benefit to fiber producers is that there is no hay in fleeces due to feeding.

November 2008: We are sold out of complete steel feeders and due to retirement, will not manufacter any more.
However, due to demand, we will continue to have single bale size KITS in stock for a little while longer. We sold out of kits a week ago and got enough additional orders to warrant having a few more dozen made.
